We are a Charlotte Mason co-op for families with children ages 0–6, founded by Nendir and David Noel. We began this journey simply: looking for friends for our little girls (then ages one and three) and longing for a community where education could be a shared delight rather than a lonely task.
At In Conversation, we are fellow voyagers, not gurus. We don’t claim to have the perfect educational model but we do believe that a classical Charlotte Mason education is the best we’ve found and seek to share this treasure with others.
We begin with Jesus, who is wisdom. If we get Him right, everything else falls into place. Our parenting and teaching are informed by how God parents us: with patience, correction, freedom, and love. We believe, like Charlotte Mason, that children are born persons - made in God’s image, with dignity and imagination - and also that they need guidance, shaping, and skill to live well in the real world.
Here you will not find comparison, anxiety, or rigid “one-way-ism.” We reject haughtiness, fear, and the urge to sanctify either Greco-Roman culture or a fixed list of “Great Books.” Instead, we delight in the riches of the Western tradition alongside the beauty and wisdom that spring from cultures across the globe. “All truth is God’s truth” and we want to cultivate imaginations, intellects, and friendships that are wide open to the breadth of God’s world.
Our name, In Conversation, reflects what we value:
This is a place for amateurs in the truest sense - those who learn out of love. Whether you’re new to Charlotte Mason, experimenting with classical ideas, or rediscovering education afresh alongside your children, we invite you to join us. We are growing, we are learning, and we reserve the right to change our minds.Above all, we hope that this co-op will be a home where families find not only education, but friendship, gladness, and the freedom to delight in the good, the true, and the beautiful - together.
